Digital Asset Management

Das GRASSI Museum für Angewandte Kunst Leipzig nutzt Cumulus als zentrales Bild- und Medienarchiv, in dem alle Assets aus dem Bereich PR und Kommunikation sowie jegliche objektrelevanten Assets verwaltet werden. Zur effizienten Nutzung besteht eine Schnittstelle zur Museumsdatenbank MuseumPlus.

Folgende Punkte wurde innerhalb des stetig weiter wachsenden Projektes von CDS Gromke e.K. realisiert:

  • Konzeption der Datenbank
  • Installation und Grundkonfiguration der Datenbanken, Sets und Benutzer
  • Administratoren- und Mitarbeitereinweisung
  • Integration von MuseumPlus für effizienten Bilderworkflow
  • Webapplikationen
  • techn. Support als First-Level-Support (FLS)

 

Digitalisierung

Für das GRASSI Museum für Angewandte Kunst Leipzig wurden von CDS Gromke e.K. bereits verschiedene Bestände hochaufgelöst digitalisiert:

  • Historische Glasplattennegative und Planfilme
  • Chinoise Vorlagenzeichnungen aus dem Schultz-Codex für Meissner Porzellan (Cruse Scanner)
  • Teile der Plakatsammlung (Cruse Scanner)

Farbige Vorlagen werden bei CDS Gromke e.K. mit integriertem Farbmanagement ICC-kompatibel digitalisiert, um am kalibrierten und profilierten Bildschirm, im Druck oder bei anderen Nutzungen farbrichtige Wiedergabe zu erzielen.

Digital Asset Management

The GRASSI Museum of Applied Arts Leipzig uses Cumulus as a central image and media archive, managing all assets related to PR and communications as well as all object-related digital materials. For efficient operation, the system is connected to the museum database MuseumPlus.

The following tasks were implemented by CDS Gromke e.K. within this continuously growing project:

  • Database conceptualization

  • Installation and basic configuration of databases, sets, and user accounts

  • Administrator and staff training

  • Integration of MuseumPlus for an efficient image workflow

  • Web applications

  • Technical support as first-level support (FLS)

Digitization

CDS Gromke e.K. has already digitized several collections in high resolution for the GRASSI Museum of Applied Arts Leipzig:

  • Historical glass plate negatives and sheet films

  • Chinoiserie design drawings from the Schultz Codex for Meissen porcelain (digitized with a Cruse scanner)

  • Parts of the poster collection (digitized with a Cruse scanner)

Color originals are digitized at CDS Gromke e.K. using integrated color management and ICC-compliant workflows to ensure accurate color reproduction on calibrated and profiled monitors, in print, and across other media applications.
